Harris County ESD 11 Receives Recognition for Transparency Efforts in Traditional Finances
Austin, Texas – May 27, 2025 – Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announces Harris County ESD 11 is the latest local government entity to achieve a Transparency Star as recognition of excellence in Traditional Finances.
Transparency Stars recognizes local government entities that provide easy online access to important financial data. The Comptroller’s office launched the Transparency Stars program in March 2016 to recognize cities, counties, and school districts making important strides toward greater government transparency.
“Harris County ESD 11 has shown a continued commitment to providing taxpayers with a clear and meaningful analysis of its financial data. This effort achieves the goals set by my office’s Transparency Stars program,” Comptroller Hegar said. “I am pleased to recognize Harris County ESD 11 for going above and beyond in its transparency efforts and being awarded for receiving the Traditional Finances Transparency Star.”
Harris County ESD 11 Chief Financial Officer Tony Farmer says recognition like this for the District’s continuing efforts to provide clear, accountable, and transparent information about how taxpayer money is being spent is satisfying.
“It’s not enough to spend money wisely,” says Farmer. “It’s about making it easy for community members to stay informed about where their money is going. This collaboration allows us to take care of the public while also remaining accountable.”
