Harris County ESD 11 To Host Blood Drive With Gulf Cost Blood Collaboration to Aid New Plasma Program
Spring, Tx. March 23, 2026: Harris County ESD 11 is partnering with Gulf Coast Blood to sponsor a blood drive Monday, March 23rd from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The event will be held at the Harris County ESD 11 (HCESD11) campus at 18334 Stuebner Airline Road in Spring.
“Harris County ESD 11 will begin providing life-saving plasma to patients experiencing significant blood loss before they get to the hospital. Plasma will be carried on our supervisor vehicles so we want to partner with Gulf Coast Blood and do our part to source blood for the cause,” says Harris County ESD 11 CEO Jordan Anderson.
EMS has traditionally used IV fluids to treat patients in hemorrhagic shock until they get to a hospital. Starting this week, HCESD11 EMS supervisors will be able to rapidly deliver blood plasma transfusions to stabilize critical patients.
Community partner Ally Medical Emergency Room is also on hand at the blood drive to support Harris County ESD 11’s efforts to provide lifesaving plasma to trauma patients who need it most.
