Child Passenger Safety Technicians Ensure Seats are Properly Installed

Spring, Tx. November 3, 2025: Harris County ESD 11 Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs) will be educating families on the proper installation and usage of car seats Friday November 14^th from 10:00 AM to 12:00.  The event will be held at the Harris County ESD 11 campus at 18334 Stuebner Airline Road in Spring.   

“Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children in the United States and according to the National Highway Safety Administration, 43% of children killed in car crashes in 2023 were unrestrained with an estimated 46% of all car seats misused,” says Harris County ESD 11 CEO Jordan Anderson.  “Those statistics are terrifying but at the same time its estimated 300 children under 5 were saved by their car seats.  As first responders all too often we unfortunately treat children in car crashes.  We want to do what we can ahead of time to make sure car seats are as safe as they can be.”  

Harris County ESD 11 is partnering with CPSTs from Safe Kids of Greater Houston, Texas Children’s Hospital and Save a Life to serve as many families as possible during the event. Participants are requested to book an appointment online ahead of time.
