Harris County ESD 11’s Dolores Merlos Wins Greater Harris County 911’s Telecommunicator of the Year
Houston, TX. June 23, 2025: Greater Harris County 9-1-1 (GHC 9-1-1) has designated Harris County ESD 11’s (HCESD 11) Dolores Merlos for its high honor of Telecommunicator of the Year for 2024.
“Dolores is a valuable resource for us here at Harris County ESD 11 and an invaluable asset to our community, “says HCESD 11’s Communications Manager Juan Rodriguez.
“Dolores has been a Telecommunicator at ESD11 since July 12, 2021. Dolores is a true pro at what she does with an outstanding commitment to excellence, quick decision-making under pressure, and compassionate communication during emergency calls. Throughout her four years here, Dolores has demonstrated unwavering composure in high-stress situations, ensuring the safety of both callers and first responders.”
GHC 9-1-1’s Telecommunicator of the Year award is presented to an individual telecommunicator in recognition of their exceptional professionalism in the field of 9-1-1 public safety.
